I am honestly shocked and find it funny that people are comparing The first Descendants release to mechanics and things from Warframe/Destiny that came years after their respective releases. I saw someone mention something how there aren’t any builds? Meanwhile I’m staring at the Mods for weapons and Mods for descendants like 👁️ 👄 👁️ This is a looter shooter. Both Destiny and Division I ran through to get to end game, yet people are commenting on this game not being hard enough, not having builds etc; and they aren’t even at the end game. One dude made these claims and legit followed it up with “I’m level 28” bro there is a level 100+ boss fight.

When there is no pvp There is no one to win over imo ergo there is no p2w

Thanks for covering, one MASSIVE difference in monetisation here showing Nexon's colours is that, with Warframe, when you buy the "ultimate descendant" equivalent (Prime Access) you pay real money (AU$90) and get the ultimate descendant PLUS more premium currency than the AU$110 premium currency pack (Quite a bit more, actually). Means that if you were going to buy premium currency, it's an easy argument to make to upsell to the Prime Access pack and get the "ultimate descendant" equivalent essentially for free. With First Descendant, you have to buy the currency and then buy the ultimate descendant, leaving you with no currency and only the descendant. Massive, massive difference in the value proposition. I'll give it a shot but that difference makes it very hard to consider opening my wallet and spending it here instead of on Warframe.

if they don't I won't play simple. most people would never be able to compete with people who swipe to play. games should be earned and farmed not purchased would rather pay for the game to play rather than buying currency

The visual fidelity of the characters in this game is insane, as it should be being UE5. This makes it a hook to want to try it or sink a bit of time into it. However the crazy nexon monetization, possibly boring over time grinding that doesnt have much reason to captivate you, and an overall lack of investment in its world or story if it's even there makes you wonder why you'd bother.

First impression of the game is pretty good,but its obviously need alot of work. Game could be really optimized better. Characters designs are pretty cool but most of them plays really samely since their abilities doesnt have much weight behind them and pretty much all the time you just running around with same few guns and shoot through everything like a paper. "Oh look i found better weapon". Puts same weapon but with just better DPS. Another thing which feels really bland is you just pick character and you are locked with 4 same abilities for the rest of your life. Again gonna say something about Destiny which is already over used thing,but they should really take some examples from Destiny. Game really could have some "Exotic" weapons or armors who would change your characters abilities or their effects atleast a bit. Ultimate skills also feels very "meh". Missions also feel very bland since whole game is just few of same type missions. Game pretty much has no builds or something like that. You just run through the game,pick things with better stats and thats. No planning,no thinking what its better to use or not.

I have a 3.5 year old computer, but can still run most games on max settings, but this game my recommended settings are medium, i have not tried higher, but first time i have not been set to max graphic settings in a game when there is an auto detect system. Game seems fun enough for me, BUT it seems like some INSANE grind pretty early.

A lot of people like to compare it to Warframe until you mention how the "pay to win" is also similar to Warframe.. Then the crazy Warframe stans go in the defense mode on how its not actually pay to win lmao.. Game plays more like Division and Destiny more than Warframe.

Game runs terrible on my 4090 with i7. Even on low settings. It's not optimized at all atm.

thank you for this direct and very honest feedback. sadly you can already see them dodging and subverting the question. id love this game to be good and i dont mind p2w in pve, but pvp with p2w will be a pass for me and most. sadly it feels like these games release to catch those few whales and big spender, temporarily milk them and then let the game die instead of building a strong longterm community that would spend more money over a prolonged period.

P2w games are easy money short term. However not long term. In the west no one likes pw2 unless their rich at which point money itself has no value. I personally will never play a p2w mmo unless a non p2w player can still be competitive by simply being smarter, more skilled, or investing more time. For example i loved Corum Online and Archlord. 2 games i played for years till they shut down. However there have been many more p2w aggressive games since then that i wont even engage with. At the end of the day how bad p2w in a game is perceived in the west is largely the advantage paying gives vs the disadvantage of not paying. We have many games where you can blow ons of money if you want, like Warframe, and its fine to us because you realistically dont have to spend money or you could trade in game items for the paid currency. I don't know if you can sell items for currency, and then buy Lucent with that in game currency. If you can however, and the in game currency grind isn't egregious, it would probably do fine in the west.

I HATE that good loot basically will belong always to the same large guilds therefore blocking anyone not part of them (or it as at one point one large guild with come over). I also dislike that everyone can just do everything. Why would you ever look for a stable group when you can do everything at all time?
